BCCN - Chapter 5

Chapter 5

Xia Linxia was completely bewildered.

As soon as the door closed, she immediately let go, tilting her head and looking around: "What kiss? You want to kiss? Dream on, sister. Do you think you can kiss the lips that have been kissed by an angel?"

Ji Fengxue pursed her lips, crossed her arms, and looked at her with great curiosity.

Xia Linxia became even more smug: "What are you looking at? Let me tell you, even though we've signed a contract, don't even think about taking advantage of me! I won't even give you tofu dregs!"

Ji Fengxue looked at Xiang Huaimeng again with curiosity: "Thank you for your hard work, bringing such a carefree person."

"I can't help it, she makes money," Xiang Huaimeng said gratefully, tears welling up. "Thank you just now."

"It's nothing," Ji Fengxue replied.

Ignored, Xia Linxia became furious: "Hey! Didn't you hear me talking!!! What are you guys talking about... What, I'm trending again? Let me see!"

She happily opened Weibo's hot search, and her smile froze on her face.

What the heck is public flirting!

In the photo, only their profiles are visible. Xia Linxia's body blocks half of Ji Fengxue's, and one of her delicate hands rests on Ji Fengxue's shoulder, the pose looking like they were kissing...

"Unscrupulous media, morally corrupt, I'm going to curse them," Xia Linxia said.

"No, absolutely not!" Xiang Huaimeng snatched her phone, her emotions fluctuating wildly. "Can you just not cause trouble for me, okay? Just stay put for a few days! You're going on a variety show soon, don't go with a bunch of negative news!"

"What variety show?" Xia Linxia asked.

"A dating reality show. Teacher Ji's side will also be notified soon," Xiang Huaimeng said to Ji Fengxue, already treating her as one of them, or rather, someone she could communicate with normally. "Teacher Ji, there will probably be a lot of trouble then. If Linxia makes any mistakes, please don't hold it against her. She's usually a bit wild, so it would be great if you could keep an eye on her. In short, this is a very troublesome situation, so please don't mind."

Ji Fengxue looked at her tearful face and patted her shoulder: "Okay."

Xiang Huaimeng felt as if she had met her own mother.

Once again ignored, Xia Linxia separated the two: "Hey, hey, hey, I'm still here, don't treat me like I'm invisible."

"I don't even treat you like a person," Xiang Huaimeng said, looking lifeless.

Ji Fengxue didn't stay long. When the onlookers outside had mostly dispersed, she prepared to leave.

Xia Linxia suddenly asked, "Why didn't you answer Fu Xiaoxuan's question just now?"

Ji Fengxue was startled and glanced at her.

"What do you think Xiao Yuran will think after watching the live broadcast?" Xia Linxia walked forward, observing the changes in her expression, but couldn't find any flaws. There were no signs of shock, surprise, regret, or even smugness.

Ji Fengxue stood there, letting her look, calm and composed, as if she were talking about an unrelated person.

Xia Linxia got no satisfaction and was too lazy to inquire about these messy things. She pressed the door handle and said, "I don't care what you do in the past or in the future, but for this year, you are not allowed to cheat on me, understand?"

Ji Fengxue pursed her lips, tilted her head, and smiled: "Xia Linxia, I've found that you're much more interesting than I imagined."

Xia Linxia's fingers paused. She fiddled with the pattern on the door lock, and after a while, she opened the door. Standing at the doorway, as the other person brushed past, she couldn't help but grab her again and whispered in her ear, "Then don't fall in love with me. I'm much crueler than Xiao Yuran. I'll dump you fiercely and heartlessly."

Ji Fengxue raised an eyebrow, turned sideways, reached out and gently patted her shoulder, her eyes curving, but there was no smile in them. Her long eyelashes concealed all her emotions: "Then we'll see."

Xia Linxia: "Heh."

Ji Fengxue: "Ha."

The two parted on bad terms.

In the evening, they got into the same nanny van again and went to a Michelin three-star restaurant for dinner. The car was eerily quiet.

Xiang Huaimeng sent a WeChat message to her newly made comrade-in-arms: "What should I do? I'm starting to worry about my work this year. Will I die prematurely? This job is too difficult! I want to resign!"

[Chen Nian]: "Before you resign, remember to transfer Xia Linxia to me. I'm very fond of her."

[Xiang Huaimeng]: ...

[Xiang Huaimeng]: That won't do, she's my cash cow! You're trying to poach from me!

[Chen Nian]: Are you still resigning?

[Xiang Huaimeng]: ...Not for now, I still have a mortgage! Teacher Ji is still aloof, isn't she? Her approachability these past few days is just an illusion?

[Chen Nian]: She's not aloof, she's just lonely.

Lonely?

Xiang Huaimeng didn't understand. Ji Fengxue, an award-winning actress, had many fans and even great public appeal. What couldn't she get? How could she be lonely?

Oh! She suddenly remembered Xiao Yuran. She actually wanted to know the details between Ji and Xiao, but Linxia always just cursed Xiao Yuran and rarely mentioned their past emotional entanglements.

The car stopped downstairs. Paparazzi, arranged by the company, were already capturing photos of the two entering the restaurant affectionately.

As soon as the paparazzi put away their cameras, the car window was suddenly tapped. Xia Linxia returned and held out her hand to him: "Let me see the camera, is the angle good?"

The paparazzi obediently handed it over.

Xia Linxia flipped through it. The angle was captured really well, with both side profiles looking good. Especially in one photo, Ji Fengxue's face was almost blurred.

She pointed to this photo and said, "Use this one for the press release. This one is super beautiful. Good job."

The paparazzi looked confused and wanted to ask more, but after being glared at twice, they obediently nodded: "Okay."

There was no need to follow them inside the restaurant, but both of them were quite famous. Even with hats and masks, they were recognized. There weren't too many customers, just enough to fill the seats. A table in the corner by the floor-to-ceiling window had been reserved for a long time. As soon as the two walked in, people kept looking over.

Xia Linxia walked forward leisurely, and suddenly her arm was pulled. Then her palm touched another warm hand, and her eyes widened instantly.

Ji Fengxue smiled and walked beside her, whispering in her ear: "Watch your words and actions."

Xia Linxia felt as if she were holding a hot potato, her fingers so stiff she didn't know how to hold it. She let Ji Fengxue lead her to the seat before she felt relieved and regained her freedom. She picked up a hot towel and carefully wiped her hands, loudly explaining to the customers, as if to cover up her actions: "It's really hot today, I'm just wiping my hands."

But the customers had no idea who she was talking to.

When ordering, Xia Linxia looked at the menu, the corners of her mouth curling up, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Black truffle soup, baked lobster with cheese, caviar, sea urchin soup, and fried onion rings..." Xia Linxia said with a smile. Although she didn't want to memorize Ji Fengxue's favorite things from the document, she remembered everything she disliked.

She disliked onions, seafood, chili peppers, and cilantro.

She then asked the waiter: "Can you add some cilantro to the baked lobster?"

Waiter: "Sorry, we can't."

Xia Linxia said regretfully, speaking nonsense with a serious expression: "Your restaurant is too rigid. Dishes should be more innovative. Cilantro captures the fragrance of the earth and complements the lobster from the sea. This is the delicacy of the human world."

Waiter: "Sorry, I haven't heard of that."

Xia Linxia gave up and looked at the person opposite her triumphantly, winking her left eye: "Darling, you must eat more later~~"

Her voice trembled so much that Ji Fengxue shivered: "Thank you, then I won't be polite."

The dishes were served one by one. Xia Linxia stared at her intently, her eyes shining like stars, waiting to see her make a fool of herself.

By chance, this gaze was interpreted as affection by passersby. Discussions about the two having a romantic meal had already started online.

Both of them liked black truffles. Xia Linxia ate two bites, thinking that when the next dish came, she would be done for.

As soon as the baked lobster with cheese was served, she eagerly picked up a spoon, scooped out a large spoonful of lobster meat from the shell, covered with a layer of cheese, which looked appetizing. She was tempted for a second, then immediately brought it to Ji Fengxue's mouth: "Darling, eat quickly."

Ji Fengxue looked at her, lowered her head, and took a bite from the spoon.

Customers who saw this immediately posted online – Xia Linxia personally fed her, the two were so affectionate!

After a while, Xia Linxia asked in confusion: "Why don't you have any reaction? Are you acting?"

Ji Fengxue chewed slowly, finished eating, and calmly wiped her mouth with a napkin, saying: "I want to eat more."

Xia Linxia scooped another spoonful and fed it to her blankly. Ji Fengxue ate it again, safe and sound, and with great enjoyment.

Xia Linxia didn't believe it and fed her the caviar and onion rings that were served later. Finally, she put down her spoon, suppressing her anger, and gritted her teeth: "You lied about the information."

Ji Fengxue didn't say anything, and asked, "Are you still feeding me?"

Of course not!

"How could you falsify such important information!" Xia Linxia was so angry she was almost full. She picked up her cutlery and found that the dishes on the table had been touched. These were all ordered to annoy Ji Fengxue, and she didn't like them either. In the end, she could only focus on the only thing she could eat: the Parmesan cheese soufflé.

It looked good and tasted good, but it was a bit high in calories.

Never mind, if one gets fat, they get fat together. So she shared a piece with Ji Fengxue. In the eyes of outsiders, the two ate a meal intimately and fed them a large bowl of dog food.

Although some people wanted autographs, they were too embarrassed to interrupt them. They looked like a painting, leaving no room for a third dog to join.

After the meal, they got into the nanny van again. Xia Linxia asked irritably: "Did you falsify all that information?"

Ji Fengxue leaned against the window with a listless expression, closed her eyes, and said, "No, it's half true and half false."

"Damn it, I filled out my information honestly, and you're faking it!" Xia Linxia was indignant.

"Is that so?" Ji Fengxue still had her eyes closed, a slight smile on her lips, her head resting on the window. As the car swayed, "So you have a pet turtle?"

Xia Linxia: "!"

"Is the little turtle really called Xia Wudi?"

Xia Linxia: "!!"

"And there's a birthmark on your right butterfly bone?"

Xia Linxia picked up a pillow and threw it at her head. A faint blush crept up her ears, unsure if it was from anger or shyness.

"Ji Fengxue! Die!" she roared and pounced, grabbing Ji Fengxue's neck and shaking her wildly.

"Cough." Ji Fengxue coughed unexpectedly, opened her eyes, and looked at her helplessly.

Xia Linxia stopped abruptly. The two were only a few centimeters apart. She leaned in a little closer, blinking curiously.

To be honest, even at such close range, Ji Fengxue's skin condition was really good. Her nose was high, her eyes were deep, her eyelashes were long, and the corners of her eyes were tinged with red, like a face after crying, exuding an innocent aura.

She chuckled: "You're lying to me. Actually, there were dishes you really didn't like just now, right? You're already reacting."

Ji Fengxue remained silent, pushed her away.

Xia Linxia sat back a little, rested her elbows on her knees, and said with a wicked smile: "So what is it? Shrimp? Caviar? Or onions?"

When she mentioned onions, Ji Fengxue's eyelids twitched slightly, which Xia Linxia quickly caught.

"Aww~ So our baby doesn't like onions, okay, I understand. I'll take good care of you from now on~"

Ji Fengxue glanced at her, the corners of her eyes still a little red, and turned her head to look out the window, not wanting to talk to her.

Xia Linxia finally felt she had the upper hand and couldn't help but lean smugly behind her shoulder, asking with a smile: "Tell me, why doesn't baby like onions?"

The two heads were close together, only a little distance apart.

Her breath brushed against Ji Fengxue's ear, completely unnoticed.

The neon lights outside flashed by like a carousel, falling into their dark eyes, like sprinkled starlight.

Ji Fengxue raised her eyes to look at their reflections in the window, her eyelashes fluttering gently. She glanced sideways at her peach blossom eyes and said, "Because after eating onions, kissing will leave a smell. Do you want to try?"

Xia Linxia: "...!"

Ginger is still old and spicy, and women are still old dogs! Xia Linxia was so angry that she hiccuped on the spot.
