BBQT - Chapter 102

Chapter 102

When Qiu Chi arrived, it was just in time to see Xi Li trying to throw Lingling out.

She had been slumped on the ground, clutching Xi Li’s sleeve and begging him not to drive her away.

The moment Qiu Chi took over, she immediately let go of his sleeve in disgust. She climbed to her feet, patted the non-existent dust from her clothes, and drew her blade. Her tone was laced with mockery. “War God? How about we have a fight and see?”

The change in her demeanor wasn’t just a matter of fighting or not; it was as different as night and day.

Although Xi Li was the War God, he wasn’t a cold-faced one; on the surface, he appeared quite gentle. Seeing Qiu Chi act this way, he couldn’t help but show a hint of surprise. “Lingling?”

He knew very well what Lingling was like, so he could only assume this sudden transformation meant her original consciousness had surfaced.

But that shouldn’t be possible…

Just as Xi Li furrowed his brow in confusion, Qiu Chi had already thrust her blade nearly to his face. “Enough nonsense. Aren’t you the War God? Come and fight.”

Xi Li took two steps back, looking displeased at the blade pointed at him. “Stop this nonsense. No matter what, I can’t let you remain in the manor…”

Qiu Chi had already raised her blade and slashed at him.

Xi Li thought Qiu Chi was completely overestimating her own strength.

He sidestepped to dodge her attack, not forgetting to add in a stern tone, “You can’t defeat—”

Unfortunately, before he could finish his sentence, Qiu Chi’s blade left a bloody gash on his body.

Xi Li stared at the wound in stunned disbelief. “How is this possible?”

Qiu Chi, however, wasn’t surprised in the slightest. “What’s so impossible about it? I can even kill you, you know. Believe it or not? How about we give it a few tries?”

From the moment she arrived in this world, Qiu Chi knew that this so-called Immortal Realm was still utter trash.

The Heavenly Dao itself was on the verge of going astray before it had even fully formed. How powerful could the immortals of this realm possibly be?

War God? Hah!

Qiu Chi barely used any of her strength, and Xi Li was already utterly defeated.

He was still reeling in disbelief.

After all, he had been the War God for too long, basking in adoration and a sense of superiority. To be so suddenly defeated by Qiu Chi was something he simply couldn’t accept.

Lying on the ground, he was still muttering, “This is impossible. Lingling couldn’t be this powerful. Even Lingling shouldn’t be able to defeat me. How could you wound me so easily?”

Immortals were protected by their immortal qi. For Xi Li, even a full-powered strike from some other immortals might not have harmed him at all.

Yet Qiu Chi, with a single, seemingly casual slash, had shattered his protective immortal qi and drawn blood. He couldn’t believe it.

“What’s so impossible about it? Haven’t you ever heard the saying, ‘There’s always someone better, and a heaven beyond the heavens’? Well, I’m that heaven beyond.”

Given that Xi Li still couldn’t snap out of the reality of his defeat, Qiu Chi decided that simply killing him wouldn’t be satisfying enough. So, she took out her whip.

“It’s all right if you can’t accept reality. We can take it one step at a time. I’ll help you.”

The whip was just an ordinary one from the mortal realm, but in Qiu Chi’s hands, it became a lethal weapon.

A single crack of the whip left a bloody welt on Xi Li’s body.

“You? Call yourself the War God? I could kill you with the most common whip from the mortal realm.”

“Don’t even think about resisting. It’s useless.”

“Of course, if you’re not afraid of humiliation, you can always call the other immortals over to witness the ‘heroic bearing’ of their War God.”

“So, should we call them over? Why are you glaring at me? Are you blaming me for being too strong when you’re the one who’s useless?”

Even though he was being beaten by Qiu Chi without any power to retaliate, Xi Li clearly valued his pride. The moment Qiu Chi first wounded him, he had swiftly erected a barrier so no one could see what was happening or enter.

But Qiu Chi felt that a sight like this deserved an audience.

Even if killing him later meant restarting the world, she could still humiliate him a few more times first.

So, she used her whip to shatter the barrier Xi Li had created.

Xi Li’s eyes blazed with fury, as if they would split open. He wished he could slice Qiu Chi into a thousand pieces. If looks could kill, her gaze would have killed him ten thousand times over.

Unfortunately, his shock and rage were useless.

He was exposed before all the immortals of the realm.

When they saw Xi Li covered in blood while Qiu Chi stood casually to the side, lashing him with her whip from time to time, they all thought they must have stumbled into some kind of illusion.

“What kind of illusion is this? It’s so realistic! If that wasn’t the War God lying on the ground, I might have actually believed it.”

“Aargh, this is infuriating! Even in an illusion, the War God cannot be insulted like this!”

There was no shortage of indignant cries.

Qiu Chi didn’t bother to correct their delusion. She simply said languidly to Xi Li, “It seems they can’t bring themselves to accept the truth. What do you suppose their reaction will be when they discover that the person on the ground really is you, the War God Xi Li?”

Xi Li merely glared at Qiu Chi with bloodshot eyes, saying nothing.

Qiu Chi had already begun to deal with the immortals who were rushing forward, trying to rescue the “illusory” Xi Li.

It wasn’t much trouble. A single lash of her whip was enough to neutralize their ability to resist.

She wasn’t there to play games with them, so she didn’t waste any time. She beat them until they were barely breathing, just enough for them to understand that the man on the ground was the real Xi Li.

As they were struck down one by one, the searing pain from the whip and the sight of their own blood made them realize with chilling clarity: this was no illusion!
