Striking the Errant Chord - Chapter 94

Chapter 94: Looking Closely

Song Hemei's kiss was sudden—a brief, forceful touch, then she parted, her eyes shining as she looked at him.

She whispered, "You should understand what I mean, shouldn't you?"

Yu Yeqing's pupils trembled, his thin lips pressed together. "I didn't come here for this. I really just wanted to see you. I didn't think of anything else."

Song Hemei was truly at a loss for words. She didn't know why he felt the need to explain something so unnecessary at a moment like this.

As if she might worry that his coming over meant he had ulterior motives or impure intentions?

After everything they'd already done—far more "ulterior" and "impure" than this—who cared what his original intention had been?

Her expression complicated, she looked him up and down. If she hadn't already been certain that he worked perfectly well, she might have suspected he had some hidden ailment.

After all, he was only twenty-three now. In the prime of his youth. So why, with a perfectly fine man like this, couldn't she lead him astray?

Song Hemei wisely decided not to beat around the bush with him. One hand braced on the edge of the table, the other landed directly on his shoulder, pulling him closer. "But that's what I'm thinking. And what you need to do now is listen to me."

Yu Yeqing's breath seemed to catch at her words. "...What do you want to do?"

She arched an eyebrow at him, studying his features in detail. She swallowed slightly. "First, kiss me."

Yu Yeqing's gaze immediately fell to her lips. Then, slowly, he stood up before her.

His tall frame loomed before her like an immovable mountain, forcing her to tilt her head up to look at him.

The next moment, he leaned in, bracing his hands on the table on either side of her, brushing his nose against hers.

He obeyed her command, bending slightly, lowering his head, his gaze dropping. His lips were so soft he couldn't bear to part from them, his body growing increasingly taut—crouching, waiting, poised for her next order.

Song Hemei couldn't breathe from the kiss.

The familiar actions and sensations still managed to tug at the numb tingling in her chest. Even after kissing so many times, that thrill had never diminished by half.

With this beginning, everything that followed became natural. Yu Yeqing closed his eyes, but his warm palm had already covered her waist.

A gentle pull, and the sash at her waist fell loose. He was already adept, easily preparing her to fully receive him.

Song Hemei's gaze grew dazed. Inch by inch, his fullness caused her to tremble lightly. After he was completely sheathed, he did not immediately retreat but waited for her to first adjust and calm down.

She had never before seen Yu Yeqing's expression so clearly at times like this—from the unusual redness at the corners of his eyes to his lips pressed together in restraint.

Clearly aware that it was because of her that he revealed such a look, a different kind of satisfaction slowly rose from the depths of her heart.

She swallowed and couldn't help asking, "What are you feeling right now?"

Yu Yeqing's dark, sunken eyes fixed on her. His hands gripping the table tightened, veins standing out on his arms—every sign of his suppression and endurance of the most primal urge.

But the person before him insisted on an answer: "Why aren't you talking?"

Yu Yeqing's breathing was unbearably heavy. He forced himself to speak. "...Very warm."

Song Hemei felt his answer was a bit perfunctory. It was the middle of summer—where wasn't it warm?

"Are you brushing me off?"

"No." Yu Yeqing's voice was hoarse. He paused, then said earnestly, "Actually, when you speak, I can feel it too."

As if afraid she would still think he was being dismissive, he added more detail: "When you talk, it gets even—."

Song Hemei's heart pounded violently. She had never expected such an answer. She immediately reached up to cover his mouth. "Alright, alright, stop talking!"

She took two deep breaths, meeting his beautiful eyes. The palm of her hand felt his warm breath. When he spoke, his lips moved, brushing against her palm.

Then his muffled voice came through: "When you get excited, it's also... more noticeable than when you talk."

Song Hemei's heartbeat raced even faster. Too embarrassed to look at him anymore, she turned her head away.

Yu Yeqing sensed that she had relaxed enough, and his narrow waist began to press down repeatedly.

Song Hemei's body tensed. She had never tried it on a table before—it was yet another sensation.

To make it easier for him, she braced her hands backward on the table, her body leaning slightly back. Each thrust made her feel the table shake along with them. Even though she had already ordered a new table to replace the old one, it still couldn't bear the strain.

Yu Yeqing braced one hand on her waist, while the other slid up her back. At first, his movements weren't fast, but he was meticulous, attending to every spot—and also teasing every spot thoroughly.

He suddenly spoke: "Want to change places?"

Song Hemei turned her head to look at him, and what met her eyes was still that serious expression of his.

When he looked like this while doing such things, it had a unique flavor. The more proper he appeared, the more it magnified the sensation, stirring her heartstrings into a frantic trembling.

She didn't answer. Instead, she lowered her gaze, recalling the figure she had vaguely seen in the bathtub. She reached out directly and pulled at the jade belt at his waist.

Yu Yeqing instinctively reached out and grasped her, wrapping her fingertips in his palm. "What's wrong?"

"Aren't you hot in your clothes?"

Song Hemei's breath was unsteady. Her words lacked that proper tone of his, revealing her utterly defenseless state.

But she didn't care. She could still urge him: "Take them off. Do you need me to do it?"

Yu Yeqing paused. He didn't separate from her first. Instead, he pressed himself tightly against her, making her brow furrow as an involuntary moan escaped her lips.

By the time she took two deep breaths, she saw that Yu Yeqing's jade belt had already fallen to the ground, followed by his outer robe and inner garment, revealing his powerful chest.

When he was fully dressed, he looked like nothing more than a handsome scholar—not exactly frail, but certainly not the kind of burly build you'd spot at a glance in a martial artist. Ordinarily, his firmness was invisible. Only when he held her could she feel his strength.

But now, looking closely at his body, she could clearly see that the man before her was a grown adult. Broad shoulders, narrow waist—not an inch of him was wasted.

Yet when she looked further down, Song Hemei noticed several shallow marks on his abdomen, like faint scars left after an injury.

She reached out and touched them. "How did you get these?"

Yu Yeqing didn't want to answer. But her soft fingertips against his abdomen made his body instinctively tense. Meeting her questioning gaze, he finally spoke: "Also from three years ago."

Song Hemei's fingertips recoiled, but Yu Yeqing took her hand and pressed it directly against his waist.

"At the time, I was thrown into the river. It rained that night, and the current was fast. My body was indeed scraped in many places. But they've all healed now."

He had never been good at saying things that would cheer her up. As a youth, he didn't know how to please her, and now he felt even more inadequate.

His Adam's apple bobbed, and he forced out a line: "But now that you know about them, I imagine these scars will soon heal completely."

Song Hemei's voice was muffled. "What nonsense are you talking? I'm not a doctor."

"You are a remedy. Now that you've touched them, they'll certainly heal quickly."

Song Hemei shot him a glance. Seeing how earnestly he spoke each word, she knew he was just saying nice things to comfort her.

After suffering such mistreatment, he still had the presence of mind to console her.

Song Hemei said softly, "You'd better not say things like that too often. Hearing too much of it makes me want to shiver."

Yu Yeqing pressed his lips together and then asked bluntly, "Then... can we continue?"

Song Hemei's ears felt hot. She rubbed her leg lightly against his and nodded.

He began to move.

Song Hemei's hand was still pressed against his abdomen, her palm naturally feeling his exertion. Her gaze slipping downward was also only natural.

She hadn't meant to look. She hadn't been on guard. She caught an unexpected glimpse, and her eyelids twitched violently.

If she had to say it, she had seen his endowment before—on that first night three years ago.

But back then, she hadn't looked carefully. Her mind had held only the single thought of getting the deed done. She only needed to know what she was grabbing and what she was using. How could it compare to now—

Not only could she clearly see him, but she could also clearly see herself, with every... as it was swallowed by her. Wherever her eyes saw it disappear, her body could feel that spot being filled and replenished.

Song Hemei's head buzzed. She felt that this sight was even more potent than the nuptial wine on that night. She hastily withdrew her gaze, wanting to close her eyes. But with the sensations running through her body, the scene she had just seen only grew more vivid in her mind, filling out the picture. She opened her eyes and met Yu Yeqing's gaze, full of lust.

"If you want to look, there's a mirror over there. I'll take you to it."

"I don't want to look!"

Song Hemei had never reacted so quickly before. Her voice even grew louder, as if denying it faster and louder would calm her pounding heart.

But Yu Yeqing leaned into her, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her flush against his chest.

"You were so excited just now. I thought you really liked looking."

Song Hemei could now tell what he meant by "excited." His kind of excitement was far from innocent.

She leaned against his shoulder, both shy and annoyed. But he kept moving, building deeper and deeper. Finally, she simply bit down on his shoulder.

Yu Yeqing let out a muffled groan. He didn't push her away. Instead, he reached up to stroke the soft hair at the back of her head, pulling her closer as the table shook violently beneath them. At last, he held her tightly in his arms, panting against her ear.

"That strong of a reaction?"

Song Hemei released him and said through gritted teeth, "None of your business? Anyway, I'm never looking again."

After a pause, she added, "From now on, we're using a blanket."

"Even in a place like this?"

Yu Yeqing seemed to be seriously considering the feasibility of it. "What if we're in a hurry and there's no blanket nearby?"

Song Hemei's head was buzzing again. She immediately cut him off. "Do you even know what you're babbling about? How urgent could it be that you can't even make it to a place with a blanket?"

Then she heard a muffled laugh from Yu Yeqing beside her ear. His chest, pressed against hers, vibrated slightly, and even in the places still joined, she could feel his light movements.

She felt as if he was laughing at her earlier initiative. Annoyed, she said, "What's so funny about that!"

But Yu Yeqing suddenly spoke: "Hold me tight."

Song Hemei instinctively obeyed, wrapping her arms around his neck. But the next moment, she felt him lift her, supporting her by the waist.

"Alright. One more time, and then we'll go to a place with a blanket."
