BBQT - Chapter 100

Chapter 100

The monks and Daoist priests Lou Yu had invited bustled about for a good while, only to offer a single conclusion: “This malevolent spirit’s power is too profound. We have truly done all we can. Young Master Lou, you had best seek help elsewhere.”

Lou Yu didn’t die of anger, but he was so enraged he coughed up blood.

Qiu Chi asked languidly, “Are you ready to atone for your sins with your life?”

“I haven’t driven you from her body yet. How could I possibly die?”

Qiu Chi couldn’t help but shake her head. “Tsk, tsk. Are you just using that as an excuse, or do you simply wish to cling shamefully to life?”

With that, Qiu Chi turned to the crowd below. “He insists on living. What do you all think should be done? If he doesn’t die, none of you can even think of leaving.”

Hei Yu said, “Why make it so complicated? Give me another plate of pastries, and I’ll go finish him off.”

Qiu Chi ignored him.

Someone in the crowd spoke up timidly, “So, if we kill him, does that mean we can leave?”

“That would work. Why don’t you give it a try?”

Seeing Qiu Chi’s approval, a crowd of people immediately surged toward Lou Yu, looking intent on killing him.

Naturally, Lou Yu had his own men, but no matter how skilled they were, they were no match for the sheer numbers from the various sects and families.

Even though they managed to hold back a good number of attackers, some still broke through and went for Lou Yu.

Lou Yu’s wounds hadn’t yet healed, but he was incredibly resilient and still had the strength to fight back.

His clothes were stained a dark crimson with blood, yet he still wasn’t dead.

If, at first, the members of the sects and families had only wanted to kill Lou Yu so they could leave, now they were genuinely determined to see him dead.

Hei Yu had stopped eating, staring in utter shock at the still-living Lou Yu.

This was the thought running through the minds of everyone present, except for Qiu Chi.

What the hell kind of monster was this? Why the hell wasn’t he dead yet?!

Seeing that they couldn’t finish him off, Qiu Chi could only resume her psychological assault.

“How about this: after you die, you can become a ghost and seek me out for revenge. After all, as you are now, you can’t possibly do anything to me. The only path left for you is to become a vengeful spirit after death.”

“Look at how deep your resentment runs. You’d probably be quite powerful as a ghost. And with your entire body stained red with blood, you might be even more formidable.”

“If you’re still unwilling to die after hearing this, it just proves that all your talk about driving me out was just that—talk. You simply want to cling shamefully to life.”

The people attacking Lou Yu couldn’t help but freeze.

“…” Why does it suddenly feel so eerie? We’ve already beaten him to this state, and now you’re saying things like that. Are you sure you don’t want to get us all killed too?

But her words seemed to be quite effective.

Lou Yu, who had been stubbornly standing his ground, finally collapsed, startling those surrounding him into taking several steps back.

Although Lou Yu wasn’t completely dead, his condition was clearly dire. A deathly stillness had fallen over him.

His gaze remained fixed on Qiu Chi.

Suddenly, a gust of wind swept through, and the people who had been surrounding Lou Yu screamed and fled.

In a short while, everyone else had run off as well. This time, Qiu Chi didn’t stop them.

Soon, the only ones left in the area, besides the blood and corpses littering the ground, were the members of her Demon Sect.

The members of the Demon Sect were also a little spooked. “Leader, this… we should probably leave now. It’s a bit creepy.”

They weren’t afraid of Qiu Chi; even if others claimed she was a ghost, they wouldn’t be scared.

After all, having spent so much time with her, how could they not know what kind of person their leader was?

But they were still afraid of other, unknown spirits.

Especially the not-quite-dead Lou Yu, whose vacant stare was fixed in their direction. It was unnerving.

Qiu Chi handed the last plate of pastries to Hei Yu. “You and Zhao Xuan take the others and leave first.”

Hei Yu and Zhao Xuan asked, “What about you, Leader?”

“Less talk. I told you to go, so go.”

In the end, the members of the Demon Sect departed, looking back every few steps.

Qiu Chi walked over to Lou Yu and kicked him. “Still haven’t kicked the bucket? Why don’t you hurry up and die?”

“Was… what you… said… all… true?”

Lou Yu asked, his voice strained.

Qiu Chi nodded. “It’s true, it’s true. Now hurry up and die. If it weren’t, I wouldn’t be able to occupy Shangguan Yue’s body. Satisfied?”

Satisfied, Lou Yu died.

Qiu Chi sneered. “Idiot! The body I’m using is my own.”
