BBQT - Chapter 73

Chapter 73

Qing Yue was currently in the Ten Thousand Great Mountains. When Qiu Chi appeared before him, his eyes instantly lit up.

He had just called out, "Qiu Chi..."

...when Qiu Chi raised her blade and slashed at him. He hastily dodged, his brow instantly furrowing. His initial excitement cooled somewhat.

"Qiu Chi, can you not be like this every single time? Can't we just calm down and have a proper talk?"

Qiu Chi sneered. "What is there for us to talk about? How you disgust me?"

While wretchedly dodging Qiu Chi's blade, Qing Yue didn't forget to say, "Qiu Chi, there's a misunderstanding between us. Put your blade away so we can talk properly."

"Heh, in your dreams. Don't worry, I've recorded your pathetic state with a Recording Stone. It'll soon spread throughout the entire cultivation world."

At this, Qing Yue's expression turned even uglier.

He took out his life-bound sword. "Since you're unwilling to listen to me, let's fight. If I win, we'll sit down and have a proper talk. How about it?"

"Beat me? Don't you think you're daydreaming?"

Qing Yue's face was grim, and he said nothing, looking utterly confident.

Then, he was utterly crushed by Qiu Chi.

Crushed by a single slash of her blade, Qing Yue fell wretchedly to the ground and spat out a large mouthful of blood, his face a mask of disbelief.

Qiu Chi held her blade and poked at Qing Yue's body. "See? And you thought you could beat me? In your dreams."

Qing Yue simply couldn't accept the gap between them. "How can you be this powerful? We're both Mahayana cultivators. How could you defeat me so easily?"

He knew Qiu Chi was powerful; if she weren't, with a temper like hers, she would have been killed countless times by now.

But he considered his own martial prowess to be among the best in the Mahayana stage, so it should have been impossible for Qiu Chi to defeat him so easily.

He stared at Qiu Chi, a hint of inquiry in his eyes.

Qiu Chi let him stare, occasionally finding a new spot on his body to poke. Qing Yue was now practically a man of blood. Qiu Chi completely disregarded the spiritual energy that should have been protecting his body as a Mahayana cultivator.

Even when the bleeding stopped, Qiu Chi would just poke the wound again.

Qing Yue's face darkened. "Qiu Chi, must you be so humiliating?"

"So what if I am?"

Qing Yue's lips tightened. He then ignored his injuries and stared intently at Qiu Chi. "Where have you been all this time? I've searched everywhere for you. I've already resolved the matter with Fang Wu. She is no longer my disciple."

"When I took her in, it wasn't like the rumors said..."

Qiu Chi, who had been leisurely poking his wounds with her blade, couldn't stop herself from smashing a fist into Qing Yue's face upon hearing this.

Qing Yue's face sank again. "Qiu Chi! Will you just listen to me? I told you, there's a misunderstanding between us—"

"Stop! There is no misunderstanding between us. I wasn't trying to save you back then. That person simply provoked me, so I killed him."

"Then you started daydreaming about me and made sure the entire cultivation world knew about it. The fact that I don't beat you up every single time I see you is a testament to my good temper. Are you trying to push your luck?"

Qiu Chi put away her blade, gave Qing Yue another beating with her fists, and only then did she leave, satisfied.

Before she left, she didn't forget to warn him, "If I hear any more rumors about you being infatuated with me, I'll kill you on the spot next time."

After Qiu Chi left, Qing Yue lay on the ground, completely unwilling to move.

He didn't believe a single word Qiu Chi had just said. He was convinced there was a misunderstanding between them.

A frivolous male voice appeared out of thin air. "Well, well, if it isn't our infatuated Venerable Qing Yue. How did you end up in such a sorry state? Let me guess... you were beaten by our short-tempered Venerable Qiu Chi, weren't you?"

Qing Yue shot the suddenly appearing, roguish-looking man an indifferent glance, his voice icy. "Get lost."

The man, however, ignored him. After glancing around, he sighed in disappointment. "Ah, Venerable Qiu Chi has already left. I didn't get to see her. How heartbreaking."

Those words made Qing Yue's gaze shoot toward the man like a sharp arrow. "You dare!"

The man waved the folding fan in his hand, the corners of his lips curling up slightly. "If you dare, Venerable Qing Yue, why can't I?"

"In your dreams."

"Right back at you."

After returning to the system space, Qiu Chi stroked her chin and pondered for a good while.

The heroine's luck was completely useless to her, but that other aura was very useful indeed.

She had been furious that someone had dared to seal her memory.

But after leaving that small world, she sensed that this aura had increased—it was a bit more than all the previous amounts combined.

If sealing her memory was the reason for this, should she try sealing it herself before entering the next small worlds?

Qiu Chi wasn't worried that sealing her memory would cause any problems. After all, she was very confident in her own martial prowess. Even without understanding the cultivation techniques and methods of that world, the inherent physical power of her body was formidable.

Besides, her personality would never allow her to suffer any grievances, so even with her memory sealed, she could still live freely and unrestrainedly.

But the one thing giving her pause was the question of what kind of "little trash" was hiding behind the Main System.

Qiu Chi didn't hesitate for long. The little trash was hiding and didn't dare show itself; was she supposed to be afraid of it?

"Next world."
