BBQT - Chapter 109

Chapter 109

Qiu Chi was not being accommodating at all, forcing them into a confrontation.

Su Qin, however, held firm. “The rumors circulating outside about the fairy have nothing to do with me.”

“If it has nothing to do with you, then it must have something to do with them.”

Qiu Chi lifted the silencing spell on them.

Instead of rushing to defend themselves, they immediately threatened Qiu Chi.

“Lingling, do you know where you are? Is the Immortal Realm a place for you to act so recklessly?”

“Release us at once and kowtow in apology, or don’t blame me for reporting you to the Heavenly Emperor!”

The group of immortals Qiu Chi had bound included both men and women, and all of them were now threatening her.

Without another word, Qiu Chi took out her whip and lashed out at the male immortal who had been shouting the loudest.

She had been quite methodical in how she’d tied them up, alternating between a man and a woman. She proceeded to whip each of the male immortals in turn. Although she didn’t whip the female immortals, the oppressive force of the lash swinging past and the blood that splattered onto them when it struck the men instantly cowed them into silence.

Now that everyone was quiet, Qiu Chi was satisfied.

“Alright, let’s continue. Su Qin says it has nothing to do with her, so that means it’s your doing, is it?”

Her tone was casual, but the whip lying beside her was still dripping with blood.

They were much more cooperative now.

Although the female immortals hadn't been beaten, Qiu Chi's sheer power was undeniable. Terrified that the blame would ultimately be pinned on them and that Qiu Chi would kill them, they quickly began to accuse Su Qin.

“It has nothing to do with us! We were all watching that day, but the War God had set up a barrier. How could we possibly know what happened inside it?”

“Exactly! There were only the three of you inside the barrier. If we wanted to know anything, we had to ask Su Qin.”

“That’s right, we all asked Su Qin.”

Su Qin was also frightened by Qiu Chi’s sudden use of the whip. Her face was pale, and she couldn’t help but clench her fists. After composing herself, she continued to argue, “They did come and ask me, but I didn’t say much. I only said the War God didn’t pay you much mind. I’m not the one who spread those rumors outside.”

Qiu Chi just sat there, watching the show, watching them tear each other apart.

“What’s with the innocent act, Su Qin? You didn’t say much, but that hesitant, reluctant-to-speak expression of yours was more effective than any words, wasn’t it?”

“That’s right! Why couldn’t you just speak plainly? Who was that whole hesitant act for? Did you really think we couldn’t see your intentions? Do you think you can just walk away from this with your hands clean?”

Su Qin lowered her eyes. “I’ve only just arrived in the Immortal Realm. Being surrounded and questioned by a group of immortals, it was inevitable that I’d feel apprehensive and fearful…”

“Heh!” a female immortal sneered. “With your level of scheming, do you really think you’re so clever? You knew we were immortals, yet you still caused trouble. I have a recording of our entire conversation. You can see for yourself what Su Qin’s true intentions were, Lingling.”

Su Qin truly hadn’t expected someone to have such a trick up their sleeve. But remembering that she hadn’t actually said anything incriminating, she forced herself to calm down.

The female immortal played the recording of their conversation. The other bound immortals watched with varied expressions, then glanced at Qiu Chi, who had remained calm from beginning to end.

Qiu Chi asked, “How much does the content of this recording differ from your own conversations?”

“It’s largely the same.”

“Not much difference, almost identical.”

“Is that so.” Qiu Chi nodded, then asked again, “So, who was it that spread that garbage rumor about me kowtowing and admitting my mistake to Xi Li? Can you enlighten me?”

In contrast to the bound immortals who were just looking at each other, Su Qin’s face instantly became deathly pale.

Qiu Chi turned her gaze to Su Qin. “So it was you?”

Su Qin shook her head. “No, it wasn’t me. I’ve only just arrived in the Immortal Realm, how could I possibly spread…”

Qiu Chi raised a hand, cutting her off. “You may have only just arrived, but you could have disguised yourself, joined their gossip sessions, and casually mentioned it. Wouldn’t that be enough to start the rumor? What do you think?”

At this point, Su Qin’s face was drained of all color, her lips bitten white.

Qiu Chi said nothing, simply toying with a piece of jade while staring at her.

The immortals bound by Qiu Chi were exceptionally furious. “Putting on such an innocent and pitiful act on the surface, who knows how filthy her heart really is.”

“Did you really think the War God would protect you just because you have some connection to him? Don’t be delusional, Su Qin. Just you wait!”

Before Qiu Chi even had to speak, Su Qin was already losing her nerve.

She immediately crushed the token Xi Li had given her. Her father had told her that as long as she crushed the token, the War God would instantly teleport to her side and save her!
