BBQT - Chapter 143

Chapter 143

The arrival of the werewolves instantly turned the farce tense.

Vampires weren't afraid of werewolves, but they found them annoying.

“Damn these persistent pests!”

Coincidentally, tonight happened to be a full moon.

The once-lively manor instantly descended into chaos. Werewolves and vampires began to fight, while the humans brought as food scrambled in disarray, searching for a place to hide.

Boyis Chesterton extended his hand to Qiu Chi. “Come, I’ll escort you out of here.”

Qiu Chi glanced at his outstretched hand with disgust. “Instead of wasting time putting on an act for me, you’d be better off helping your kind.”

How could Boyis not know what she was capable of?

Boyis smiled and withdrew his hand. “In that case, be careful. Protect yourself.”

With that, Boyis went forward and engaged a werewolf in combat.

Qiu Chi spared him a single glance before looking away.

In the midst of this chaos, there were always those who wanted to sneak in and steal a few sips of blood.

However, the first to approach Qiu Chi was, surprisingly, Nate.

“How could you be…”

He spoke only those few words before falling silent, his gaze shifting to Boyis.

Just then, Boyis managed to glance in Qiu Chi’s direction, and their eyes met.

Nate turned his head, avoiding Boyis’s gaze. Boyis, however, frowned, and his attacks against the werewolf grew fiercer.

Qiu Chi said leisurely, “Rest assured, my promise to you still stands. The time isn’t up yet, so what’s the rush?”

“That’s not what I meant…”

“Alright, cut the nonsense. If you’re going to fight, then get to it. If not, leave.”

As soon as Qiu Chi finished speaking, another vampire approached. “Nate, why aren’t you killing werewolves? What are you doing here?”

Nate shot the vampire a cold look. “I’m here for the same reason you are.”

“Hah! I just saw you come over and thought I’d give you a little push.”

“In that case, shall we join them together?”

Nate and the other vampire joined the chaotic battle.

The third to arrive was Serena.

“Tsk. I’m afraid Boyis has no time for you now. What do you think will happen to you, now that you’ve fallen into my hands?”

Qiu Chi gave a succinct answer: “Death.”

Serena chuckled. “At least you have some self-awareness…”

Qiu Chi cut her off. “Wrong. I meant that you will die.”

Serena’s smile vanished, her expression darkening. “You truly don’t know your place. Do you think I can’t touch you just because Boyis favors you?”

“Even if I drained you dry right now, Boyis wouldn’t do a thing to me. You’re nothing but our food. It’s best you recognize that.”

Qiu Chi glanced at the brawling vampires and werewolves, too lazy to bother with Serena.

“You talk too much. If you’re going to make a move, do it quickly. Don’t keep me from watching the show.”

“You’re asking for it!”

With that, Serena lunged at Qiu Chi. Qiu Chi didn’t move from her seat, simply drawing her whip and lashing out.

Qiu Chi had thought that once Serena was dead, she could go back to enjoying the show.

Who would have thought that Boyis was such a glutton for punishment.

He stepped forward, under the pretext of protecting Qiu Chi, and took the blow for Serena.

But Qiu Chi’s strike was meant to be lethal. By blocking it, Boyis was also doomed.

And so, with Boyis’s death, the chaotic scene came to an instant standstill.

Qiu Chi couldn’t help but curse. “Fuck!”

Having come this far, Qiu Chi had no desire to start over.

She had no choice but to expend some energy and rewind time to the moment before Boyis died.

She tossed the attacking Serena in front of a nearby werewolf, then clenched her fists and hauled Boyis over.

Damn him for being so determined to die. A good beating was the only way to vent her frustration.

Ignoring the shocked stares of everyone present, Qiu Chi first pummeled him with her fists.

When that wasn’t enough, she took out her whip and began lashing him.

Besides, they were just superficial wounds. Vampires had strong regenerative abilities. As long as she didn't strike a fatal blow, she could keep inflicting wounds on him without pause.

The vampires who had been eyeing Qiu Chi’s blood, hoping to sneak a few sips amid the chaos: “…” How terrifying!

The werewolves, who had always wanted to kill all the vampires but lacked the strength, looked at Qiu Chi with shining eyes.

The humans hiding nearby: Oh my god, what kind of monster is this?!

The three different races present were each shocked in their own way. Only Boyis, the one being beaten, felt nothing but utter humiliation.

When Qiu Chi had beaten him before, hardly anyone had seen it. For the sake of her blood, Boyis could endure it.

But being beaten now, in front of all the noble vampires and werewolves, was something Boyis could not tolerate.

He wanted to fight back, but he was completely powerless to do so.

Even trying to delude himself as he had before—that he was only this weak because he had just awoken—was useless.

He wanted to tell Qiu Chi to stop, but he couldn’t bring himself to say it in front of so many other vampires.

Out of sheer shock, the battle between the vampires and werewolves had ground to a halt.

It wasn’t until a werewolf shouted, “Yeah, beat him! Kill that bastard!” that the silence was broken.

With the werewolf’s shout, the somewhat quiet scene instantly erupted into noise again.

This time, however, the nature of the commotion had changed.

Qiu Chi had gone from being a spectator to the main actor.

Seeing Boyis’s pathetic state, many werewolves wanted to rush forward and finish him off.

Naturally, the vampires couldn’t let the werewolves kill their King.

There were also those loyal to Boyis who wanted to rush forward and save him.

Unfortunately for them, Qiu Chi was merciless.

Whether they wanted to save Boyis or kill him, she whipped every last one who approached.

Having just expended energy to rewind time, Qiu Chi was now in an exceptionally foul mood.

If they hadn’t provoked her, she might have let it slide. But since they had, she wouldn’t be polite.

After a few vampires and werewolves had been killed, the rest of them finally settled down.

They went back to fighting each other.

Only this time, there was commentary.

Werewolves: “Kill him! Hurry up and kill him! You’re a human, why show a vampire any mercy!”

Vampires: “Damn you for underestimating me. I’ll kill you.”

The vampires wanted to run their mouths at Qiu Chi, but Boyis was still suffering at her hands.

Besides, judging by her actions, she clearly didn’t intend to kill him. And since their regenerative abilities were so powerful, a little beating wasn’t really a big deal… right?

And since complaining was useless, they figured they might as well hurry up and kill these persistent werewolf pests.

The farce only ended when the werewolves finally retreated, having suffered heavy casualties.

Of course, the vampires hadn’t fared much better.

Although the werewolves weren’t as strong, they had numbers on their side. Moreover, wounds inflicted by werewolves didn’t heal immediately.

Qiu Chi only stopped after the werewolves had fled.

Even with a vampire’s rapid healing, Boyis was still a mess of torn flesh and gaping wounds, a gruesome sight to behold.

After all, no matter how fast he healed, it couldn’t keep up with the speed of her attacks.

Qiu Chi tossed the whip, stained with Boyis’s blood, aside in disgust before getting up and leaving.

After she left, the injured Serena immediately rushed to Boyis’s side, while Nate quietly followed Qiu Chi.
