Erotic Survival Game - Chapter 339
Chapter 339: Deathtrap Hospital (12)
Counting the time, the hint that Ji Ning, Jiang Ting, and Qin Yanshu had obtained together earlier was certainly expired by now. So the three of them followed behind Shen Yu as they headed downstairs.
To confirm whether the other Chainsaw Killer was still in the second building, the group went down to the third floor. Hearing no sound from below, they then briefly checked the second and first floors in turn, but did not see the killer that had appeared at the very beginning of the game.
Analyzing the previous situation, a Chainsaw Killer without a pursuit target would not proactively change floors. Therefore, the killer downstairs had most likely been proactively dealt with by other players.
"To come here specifically to deal with a killer in such a short time, and without making much noise…" Ji Ning sucked in a sharp breath, "Could it be that they have two chainsaws now?"
Sorting out the timeline from entering the game until now, only a few hours had passed at most. This little time was only just enough for the opposing players to gather or form an alliance, kill the first killer to discover the secret, charge the chainsaw, kill the second killer, and return to the first building.
After doing all that, they definitely didn't have enough time left to complete a task, so Ji Ning and her group heading to find the opposite team now was perfectly timed.
The four of them moved to invade the first building.
If a skirmish broke out, having the high ground was an advantage. So the four took the elevator back to the sixth floor and crossed from the highest passageway between the two buildings.
The passage connecting the two buildings was completely exposed. If anyone was keeping watch, the four would definitely be discovered.
But the situation was urgent; they couldn't worry about that and could only speed through this stretch.
As she walked, Ji Ning whispered, "If we don't spot anyone standing guard, then I think the relationships on the other side aren't very solid. No one wants to be separated while doing a task, in case it doesn't count as completion. There's probably not much sense of a team."
This wasn't just idle talk. Sometimes the level of teamwork on the opposing side could greatly influence the success rate of their own side's strategies during a firefight.
Ji Ning looked towards Qin Yanshu and asked him, "Right?"
Surprised that she would seek his opinion first, Qin Yanshu gave a faint, gentle smile and concurred, "Correct."
As they spoke, the four had already successfully crossed the passage and arrived at the first building, Ji Ning's spawn point.
Following their pre-agreed strategy, the ambush squad then proceeded along the stairwell to the eighth floor, planning to search downwards from there.
Rooms where tasks were in progress would be temporarily closed for thirty minutes. Without any guidance, the four would need to try every single closed door one by one.
A single hospital building had a C-shaped layout, with roughly thirty-plus rooms with doors on each floor. The checking process wasn't overly complicated, but it still took up time.
And they didn't know how long ago the other group's task had started or when it would end. So the four couldn't split up to search.
Not to mention they might accidentally open a door to the Chainsaw Killer.
Just as everyone was worrying about these various hidden problems, Qin Yanshu crouched down halfway at the staircase, his gaze leveling along the floor of the last step. He then stood up and said softly, "Let's go downstairs. It's not on this floor."
Ji Ning was startled, only then remembering Qin Yanshu's profession as a forensic pathologist. Examining scenes for clues and evidence was his stock-in-trade.
She mimicked Qin Yanshu and crouched at the stairway entrance, thinking she might see footprints or something, but she couldn't make out anything at all. Even though she had clearly walked on this floor.
Then she followed behind the men downstairs and heard Qin Yanshu specifically explain for her, "This type of floor tile doesn't show footprints, but where many people have walked, the polished surface will look different. The difference is subtle; it's normal that you can't see it."
He spoke these words very patiently. Ji Ning looked up at him, feeling that at this moment, Qin Yanshu seemed very sacred and also very mysterious.
And so, Qin Yanshu examined floor by floor like this, finally locking onto the fourth floor, and pinpointed the exact room.
The second building primarily housed operating rooms and inpatient wards, while the first building mainly housed outpatient clinics.
The room that wouldn't open was Obstetrics Outpatient Room No. 5. They had no idea how much time was left before the people inside came out.
Ji Ning and the three men lay in wait silently in the fire escape stairwell, simultaneously reconfirming the final action plan.
According to their estimated time, the other team inside that room should have already completed more than half of their task progress by now.
When people finally emerged from the room, the time indeed matched, having only been about seven or eight minutes.
Without Qin Yanshu's skill to quickly locate this place, the four of them certainly wouldn't have managed to lie in ambush in time.
Five people came out of the room in total: four men and one woman, indeed carrying two chainsaws.
They had been inside the room for half an hour, so the chainsaws in their hands should have been out of power by now. But one person walking at the very back of the group suddenly brandished his chainsaw arrogantly, revving it twice.
This meant that right inside the room where they'd been doing their task, there was a charging socket!
The chainsaw in Shen Yu's hand had just barely under ten minutes of usage time left.
The original Plan A had been to launch a sneak attack and kill them while their chainsaws were useless. Fortunately, the four maintained a steady style and didn't act rashly. Instead, they observed first, planning to strike after the opponents moved somewhere to charge.
Now the situation had turned into the less likely second scenario, so they could only activate Plan B.
The opposing five-person team, just like Ji Ning's group, originally also had two options. First, kill the opponents. Second, directly complete the Clearance Condition.
Because of their role distribution advantage, they had chosen the latter, which played right into the four's hands.
Ji Ning and the three men stealthily followed behind the five-person team, trailing them back to the seventh floor.
This must be the task indicator point for the treasure chest.
Just like when Ji Ning's group first searched for the main control room, the first thing the five-person team opened was a Chainsaw Killer room too. In fact, it was two of them.
This made one strongly suspect that the Chainsaw Killers also served the purpose of guarding the main control room.
After all this maneuvering, this was the exact moment Ji Ning and the other three had been waiting for!
The instant the five-person team clashed with the killers, Shen Yu raised his chainsaw and charged in first.
Chaos erupted ahead: seven people, four chainsaws buzzing wildly. Yet his forward momentum didn't show a shred of hesitation.
Once the distance closed, Shen Yu drew a scalpel, flicked his wrist, and hurled it forcefully. It struck the left chest of the person who had noticed the anomaly and turned to defend against him.
It didn't pierce the heart, but it was enough to throw the opponent off balance.
Shen Yu's offensive didn't stop. He drew a second scalpel, raising his hand slightly higher, and this blade stabbed into the opponent's eye.
The screeching, maniacal laughter of the Chainsaw Killers intermingled with the roars and furious curses of the players. The scene descended into utter chaos in an instant.
The five-person team had giant Chainsaw Killers pressing in relentlessly from the front, and an ambush from the elite four-person squad from behind. Even with two chainsaws, the panic and confusion prevented them from bringing their full strength to bear.
Shen Yu was like an alpha wolf tearing into the neck of its prey. He closed in on the person bringing up the rear of the five-person team, swept his chainsaw horizontally, and the opponent's head fell to the ground with a thud.
The five-person team was now a four-person team, and the front line retreated step by step, unable to withstand the Chainsaw Killers' onslaught. Then one of them holding a chainsaw had no choice but to turn around and face the ambush.
Jiang Ting, shielding Ji Ning, followed behind Shen Yu, launching flanking attacks against anyone blocking Shen Yu's assault.
In the span of a single minute, the "five-person team" lost two more members: one was killed by Ji Ning, assisted by Jiang Ting, and another's head was smashed apart by a Chainsaw Killer. Only Player No. 3, protected by his chainsaw, and No. 10, who was staying close to No. 3, remained.
No. 10 tried to retreat, but No. 3 kicked him straight into the path of a Chainsaw Killer. His entire body slammed into the chainsaw, instantly splitting into two halves, his intestines spilling all over the floor.
"Since you can't live anyway, why should I leave you as an extra life for them?" No. 3 laughed despairingly and coldly, then threw himself at the Chainsaw Killer as well.
If he died at the hands of a player, not only would his Life Essence be left to others, but his weapon would be too.
The gruesome spectacle of a blood plasma explosion played out again. No. 3 willingly became a soul claimed under the Chainsaw Killer's saw.
